PETERBOROUGH star Lewis Blackbird booked his place in the British Final in style tonight (Wednesday).
Blackbird racked up 11 points to finish in a four-way share of second place behind reigning world champion Tai Woffinden in a semi-final at Rye House.
His reward is a tilt at national glory at Monmore Green on June 16.
Blackbird was second behind home-track rider Steve Boxall in his opening outing before finishing third in his next race.
But back-to-back victories catapulted him up the scorechart before a solid second place behind Woffinden in his final ride clinched his passage.
Fellow 'TC Harrison' Panthers man Joe Jacobs performed with credit after receiving a late call-up to the meeting.
Jacobs, drafted in to replace injury victim Adam Ellis, scored five points despite suffering a harsh exclusion in his final ride.
