PETERBOROUGH suffered another dose of the away-day blues and will be looking forward to their return to the East of England Showground.
Missing injured skipper Nicki Pedersen, the Panthers again suffered from their inability to build on a good start.
After the first six heats the teams were level and Poole only had a four point cushion going into the second half of the clash.
But successive maximums in Heats 10 and 11 and another in Heat 13 saw them coast to a 55-35 victory.
The second 5-1 was the killer blow as team boss Trevor Swales had played his tactical card, putting Kenneth Bjerre in the black and white helmet.
He could only finish third behind Darcy Ward and home debutant Thomas H. Jonasson to end any hopes of an upset against the unbeaten at home Pirates.
There were some bright spots for the Panthers – but not enough to take a point against the odds-on favourites to lift the Elite League crown.
Dakota North, in his first match since May when his season was interrupted by a badly broken finger, won his comeback race, beating Jonasson.
And Norbert Kosciuch won his first away race for ages with victory in Heat 3 over Davey Watt.
But with Kenneth Bjerre failing to beat a home rider other than Jason Doyle and Linus Sundström struggling in his first three rides, the Panther went down to a predictable defeat.
POOLE 55: Darcy Ward 14:1, Chris Holder 11:1, Davey Watt 11, Thomas H. Jonasson 9:1, Dennis Andersson 5:1, Jason Doyle 4:2, Kyle Newman 1:1.
