MICHAEL Palm Toft is all kitted out and ready to relaunch his Peterborough career.
Palm Toft is back with the city side for a third spell and is a firm favourite with Panthers fans.
He joins fellow Dane Bjarne Pedersen, British icon Chris Harris and talented teenager Jordan Palin as confirmed starters with the season scheduled to start in May.
Last season he only rode on one occasion – at Panthers’ press day.
“I didn’t feel ready to race competitively when meetings started late last year so I left the bikes alone,” he said.
“I’ve got new bikes ready in the workshop and they are probably the best bikes I’ve ever had, so hopefully I’ll be able to have a really good season. One of the bikes has only done 12 laps!
“I’d like to get out there and practice as soon as we are allowed and we can get ready for the new season.”
Palm Toft has also welcomed new signing Bjarne Pedersen to add more experience to that of Harris.
“You can’t substitute experience and both Bjarne and Bomber have loads of that,” he said.
“They know what’s needed, they know what to do and how to do it so that can only help us at Peterborough.
“If you have a young team sometimes there’s nobody to give you any input when you need a bit of help, I think the experience will be a big help for us on the away tracks.”
Palm Toft is looking to make up for lost time after all the disappointment of a cancelled season last year.
“I’m really looking forward to it after all the frustration of last year,” he said.
“We got on track at press day and that was it so it was all pretty disappointing.
“The Peterborough track had new material on it, it rode a bit different than when I was last with them, but it was good and I’m looking forward to getting back out there.”
PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY would like to thank Crendon Timber as team sponsors and City Auction Group as club sponsors.
