PANTHERS favourite Ulrich Ostergaard has gone back to work in Denmark – but he’s ready to get the first flight back to the UK if the season is allowed to happen.
No racing has been possible at the East of England Arena so far this year and now the season has moved into July decision time is approaching on whether any league competition is possible.
Said Ostergaard: “I’m lucky as I have a full-time job here in Denmark which is paying the bills but I will jump at the chance of travelling to England once a decision is made. In the meantime all I can do is wait for a decision.”
Ostergaard has already lost his place in the second tier following Glasgow’s early decision to pull out.
He said: “With only one team to race for it will be tough financially for me but my sponsors have been great with me, and they all understand my situation.
“I sold them exposure for more meetings this season and thankfully most of my sponsors are long time backers who know how the sport works.
“I’m not sure what sort of season we will get if the season starts but I’m as committed as ever to give my all for the club. I love everything about the place and the track is up there as one of the best in the country.
“The promotion must be frustrated because they have put a lot of hard work into getting the side together over the winter.”
