PANTHERS racer Charles Wright is heading to Germany - to launch a bid for a 2020 Grand Prix spot!
Wright, a shining light in an otherwise tricky season for the city club, will go to Abensberg on Monday June 10 as part of the qualification system.
And GB boss Alun Rossiter says he fully deserves the opportunity. “Charles has done really well this season and he deserves this,” he said. “He’s been winning races for fun and my policy is to look at form riders all the time. Charles has forced his way into my thinking and I’m pleased to hand him the chance to go into the SGP qualifying system. “On his day he is up there as fast as anyone and I’m sure he’ll give it his best shot.” Glasgow fans will have the chance to cheer on one of their own with Craig Cook appearing at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium round on Saturday June 8 alongside young sensation Robert Lambert.
Belle Vue’s Dan Bewley, who has made a successful comeback from serious multiple injuries, will head to Slovakia on the same date and Chris Harris, who has ridden in 100 Grand Prix in his fine career, will be in France on that date.
