PETERBOROUGH have been struck by another rider absentee for Sunday’s play-off semi-final against Lakeside at Rye House (6pm).
The T.Balfe Construction Panthers will have five of their regular line-up missing after Danish star Ulrich Ostergaard was ruled out on doctor’s advice, and he will miss the trip to Hoddesdon.
Panthers have moved to book Ipswich’s Nico Covatti to guest, and he will take over Ostergaard’s position at No.5 as they look to overturn a two-point deficit from the first leg.
Peterborough promoter Ged Rathbone said: “Ulrich has been poorly all week, and he’s been to the doctors for blood tests to try and find out what’s wrong with him.
“Whilst we’ve left things as late as possible and given him every chance, we put Nico on stand-by when we knew there was an issue, and he will now come in on Sunday.
“It just goes to show how our season has finished off, in that we’re going into the second leg of our play-off semi-final with only two of our own riders – but we’ll still be giving it everything to make the Final.”
