PETERBOROUGH have no time to dwell on their disappointment from Friday as they go into the Championship play-offs this weekend.
The T.Balfe Construction Panthers face yet another trip to Rye House to face Lakeside on Saturday (7pm) with the return at the East of England Arena on Sunday (5pm).
Honours were even between the Panthers and the Hammers in the recent KO Cup and Championship Shield clashes, but the upcoming fixtures are clearly the most crucial.
Emil Grondal is set to return to the side after missing the trip to Scunthorpe with a hand injury, whilst Nico Covatti takes the guest booking at No.1 and Jordan Stewart again steps in at reserve.
Lakeside are able to name a full-strength line-up with Zach Wajtknecht back from injury, and he takes his place in the main body of the side with Ben Morley dropping to reserve.
Panthers boss Carl Johnson said: “The best way to turn things around from a performance like we had at Scunthorpe is to get straight back on it.
“Hopefully we can do that on Saturday because obviously this is the big one. The play-offs are the one everyone wants to win, and I’m sure everyone will be focused on it.
“We know if we don’t perform then fingers will be pointed, which can be harsh after such a good year, but this is a difficult sport.
“We had put ourselves into a fantastic position, the team could have made history, and slowly that’s been slipping away despite being so consistent all season.
“But the play-offs are vitally important, and the plan is to go there and keep it as close as possible, or better than that, to give ourselves a tie to win on Sunday.”
