PETERBOROUGH promoter Ged Rathbone is calling on his team to keep going for their injured stars – starting at home to Berwick today (Sunday, 5pm).

The T.Balfe Construction Panthers go into the meeting without No.1 Scott Nicholls, who has a broken ankle, and key reserve Tom Bacon who is awaiting news of the full extent of a back injury.

Redcar duo Thomas Jorgensen and Jordan Stewart come in for the clash with the Bandits, where a win would all-but ensure Panthers of a place in the play-offs.

Rathbone said: “It’s dreadful to lose the two boys to injury, and our thoughts are very much with them.

“But now is the time for the rest of the team to dig deep and make sure we still achieve what we set out to do, and I’m sure they’ll be determined to do just that.

“We have two guests coming in who are keen to do well, and it’s also an important meeting for Berwick today for them to keep their outside play-off hopes alive.

“We need to all come together as a team and get the three points today, and I know that’s what Scott and Tom want us to do as well.”

Panthers can also confirm they are awaiting a date to race their final outstanding Championship fixture at Lakeside.

They have been in contact with both the Hammers promotion and the BSPA, but are yet to receive a reply from their opponents.
