PETERBOROUGH have suffered an injury setback ahead of this Sunday’s vital Championship clash with Berwick at the East of England Arena.

No.1 Scott Nicholls crashed out of a guest appearance for Ipswich at Glasgow on Tuesday, and was taken to hospital with a break to his ankle.

The ankle has been put back in position but he may still require surgery on it today (Wednesday).

Nicholls is still hoping to be able to return to racing before the end of the season, but is set to miss the upcoming schedule.

In the meantime, Panthers have booked Redcar racer Thomas Jorgensen to guest on Sunday.

Panthers do expect to welcome back Ulrich Ostergaard for the match against the Bandits, the Dane having been out since mid-July with rib damage.

Ostergaard is scheduled for two practice sessions this week and assuming he comes through them with no ill effects, he will take his place on Sunday.
