ULRICH Ostergaard has declared himself fit to take his place in the Peterborough team for their Championship trip to Sheffield on Thursday.

The Dane suffered a heavy fall when making a guest appearance at Berwick last weekend and was a doubt for the match at Owlerton due to shoulder, elbow and rib pain.

However, following physiotherapy in his homeland Ostergaard will line up for the T.Balfe Construction Panthers at the venue where he won the old Premier League Riders’ Championship back in 2015.

Promoter Ged Rathbone said: “Ulrich has been having physio, he’s also been out running and he’s due to do a 15-mile bike ride tomorrow morning.

“He’s said he has had no ill effects from his shoulder or his arm, so he’s good to go on Thursday and we’re pleased to have him in the team.”

The news means Panthers will be at full strength in South Yorkshire, although Ostergaard and Emil Grondal then miss the trip to Edinburgh on Friday due to Danish commitments.

A full preview for the Sheffield meeting will be issued on Wednesday.
