NIELS - NO BREAKS

Monday October 09, 2023
PETERBOROUGH favourite Niels-Kristian Iversen remarkably suffered no broken bones in his horrific Final crash on Saturday.

Iversen was taken to hospital for checks after the dramatic accident with Ryan Douglas which meant the last race at the Showground ended after one-and-a-half laps.

The result was awarded to Iversen with extensive damage to the fence meaning a re-run would have been impossible, and the Dane himself would have been in no position to race in any case.

Iversen posted to social media: “Scans show nothing is broken, but I am pretty battered.

“They kept me in hospital overnight for observation due to a knock to my chest.

“Thanks for all your concerns.”

Peterborough Speedway would like to wish Niels well for a speedy recovery, and also hope Ryan suffers no ill effects with meetings to come this month for Scunthorpe and at Wolverhampton.

Thanks to all the riders for their support of the meeting and most importantly the fans for such an incredible turnout.
