TWO CHANGES FOR SATURDAY

Saturday October 07, 2023
TWO changes have been confirmed for this evening’s (Saturday) Farewell to the Showground event, which gets underway at 7pm.

Unfortunately Danny King has been forced to withdraw following his heavy crash in the Sports Insure Premiership Grand Final at Sheffield on Thursday, which also meant he missed his Championship KO Cup meeting for Redcar last night.

And the Crendon Panthers’ Rising Star Jordan Jenkins has sadly lost his race against time to be fit for the meeting having suffered damage to his hand in a crash at Oxford last week.

Their places are taken by two of the sport’s bright prospects in Jason Edwards, who was part of the victorious Sheffield team against Ipswich, whilst 16-year-old Ashton Boughen steps up from reserve into the main line-up.

Meanwhile former Panthers mascot Max Perry, who has had two good seasons of progress in the NDL and has taken the scalps of the likes of Josh Pickering and Troy Batchelor this season, takes over as meeting reserve.
